One of Evan's favorite things has been to help Daddy vacuum. The vacuum is like toddler gold in our house. We say hello to the vacuum when we get home from school, and we cry when mommy won't take it out and vacuum. Now this kid is so fond of vacuums, he found out where the vacuum is at school, and makes a run for it everyday on the way out! And yes, we can now say the word "vac-oom". So after weeks of this vacuum thing, mommy finally said "I give up, he needs a kid vacuum". For those of you out of the know, yes they make kid vacuum's. So Evan went shopping this past weekend with a girlfriend from school (obviously us mom's went too). And what did mom find? You guessed it, a Dirt Devil Junior Upright Vacuum! Okay, so this thing takes 4 C batteries, so we do need to invest in rechargeable batteries at some point. But wow, with that little burst of battery power comes an on board light, REAL suction (yes, it really collects dust), a detachable hose and a real vacuum bag to empty. This thing is awesome, complete with sound and suction, minus the spinning finger chopping wheels and the pull your hair out of your head suction (it has just enough power to pick up a SMALL dustbunny). So we are one happy clean floor family.
