4/17/10 Basement-Part II
So we worked on the Basement a little this week....took 1/3 of Evan's eventual play space and made it into a temporary play area. This will allow us to work in the area and have him with us. It will also allow me to have him downstairs when I am doing laundry-without putting him in the pack-n-play which he has long outgrown. As you can see there are baby gates keeping him in a smaller area (about 13x13), so it's a good size corner of the basement. We tested it out tonight and Evan gave his seal of approval. John and I will be picking up some new lights tomorrow at Lowe's, as the space is too dark right now....and I need more light to paint! Also took a ton of toys, from the family area and Evan's bedroom, downstairs. We're going to try and keep the family room toys on his shelf and in his two baskets, and the same upstairs where he has two book shelves and a toy chest.....anything else goes downstairs. And there are bins everywhere to carry things up and down for variety. We have some larger items set aside, and his train caboose and tracks are disassembled for now....but he can use them later when we open up the space. For now this is a start........
